Social Justice Educators for Teens (on going through the year)
Looking for college aged students and just beyond to inspire teens to change the world in our Youth Stand Up for Justice program.
As a social justice educator for teens in the Workmen’s Circle Youth Stand Up for Justice program, a year –long social justice learning program, you will be spearheading and participating in an engaging and contemporary learning experience for teens ages 12 -18. Using our Social Justice Curriculum, you’ll be trained and guided by the Workmen’s Circle Education and Social Justice staff to implement interactive workshops that inspires teens to engage in activism. Core content of workshops includes Jewish social justice, Jewish labor and immigration history, organizing and social action.
After training, educators work in groups, visiting synagogues, JCC, clubs and camps throughout the tri-state area, concentrated locally to bring the message to teens of how to create change to make the world a better place for all.
This is paid work and involves Sunday commitments during the school year. Summer work involves weekday commitments to lead workshops at camps throughout the summer. Transportation will be provided.
Participate in a full year of programming including:
• Educator training
• Teaching visits
• Participate in regular check-in calls
• Participate in all program-related evaluation and planning activities
