The Joseph Stern Center for Social Responsibility (CSR) educates, inspires and empowers people to work toward a better and fairer world through learning, volunteering and activism. Our current areas of focus include voting rights, racial justice, climate change and immigration. The Program Manager is a vital contributor to CSR’s work, partnering with the Center Director, to develop and produce unique, high quality programming, and manage CSR operations. Successful applicants will be skilled task managers who are passionate about engaging and activating community members to become advocates for social justice. During Covid, this position works remotely and plans virtual programs.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
? Work collaboratively with the Center Director to research and develop Fall, Winter/Spring and Summer program calendars which include one time events, ongoing classes, workshops, volunteer projects and advocacy activities.
? Collaborate with JCC staff on other programming opportunities including the Cinematters: New York Social Justice Film Festival, other institutional events and holiday programming.
? Plan and implement a portfolio of programs.
? Serve as a key staff person at CSR events.
? Manage event logistics including coordinating technical needs, guest lists, room requests, contracts and catering -- ensuring all events are delivered with smooth operations and high level of professionalism.
? Manage production and program related budgets and report regularly on financials to Center Director.
? Work closely with marketing staff to develop effective campaigns for CSR events, programs and other activities.
? Track audience attendance and ensure high attendance for program events.
? Develop and manage community partnerships to build audience for CSR events.
? Handle all post event needs including audience and speaker follow up
? Manage all CSR administrative needs including check requests, financial tracking, attendance tracking, data entry, purchasing, room requests, meeting coordination and more.
? Provide customer support
? College graduate with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience
? Highly organized with attention to detail
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diplomacy and clarity
? Strong time management and prioritization skills
? Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
? Experience with programming, social justice and/or education/training a plus
? Ability to track budgets
? Comfortable and proficient learning and working with a variety of computer applications.
? Ability to work nights and weekends
