Mishkan Tefila, an innovative Conservative Synagogue in Brookline, MA is seeking an accomplished Multi-Tasker to join our team as our Communication - Marketing Program Associate/ Rabbinic support.
Communication and Marketing Associate
Our ideal candidate will be comfortable with all forms of marketing and communication including social media, website upkeep and improvement of website, daily and weekly email communications. Through print and digital media, you will work closely with the CMT professional staff to elevate our message, to tell our stories in the most compelling way possible, to attract potential members and the broader community, and oversee outreach to our dedicated members. Partner with other staff to establish marketing goals, strategies, and tactics and execute on them. Collaborate with graphic designers to develop creative brochures, postcards, catalogs, banners, event flyers. Write and edit marketing materials, including copy for brochures, membership material, emails, and social media posts.
Outside advertising of CMT: research best places to get the word out and manage deadlines to ensure that we are in all the right places at all the right times (for example local news, online, JewshBoston.com, Grammerly, Evently etc)
Assist in the implementation of marketing events from concept to day of event
Office and Program Support
The candidate will be comfortable answering phones and responding to the needs of Congregants and potential members. Effective and personable interactions with Congregants in order to meet their needs is essential. Excellent Communication skills and ability to work in a busy environment while balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Oversee and support large and small events and ensure all logistical aspects of the event are attended to.
This role requires an organized and responsive person with excellent time management, high attention to detail and self-starter skills. The assistant will perform a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties in order to efficiently assist the Rabbi, including but not limited to:
Receiving calls and inquiries for meetings with the Rabbi
Emails/ voicemail tracking
Rabbi's scheduling and calendaring
Gathering of information/minutes from rabbi/member meetings
Management of Rabbi’s pastoral calls, meetings, tasks, and projects
Reminder calls to the Rabbi for upcoming meetings
Preparation of materials for Rabbi meetings and classes
Yahrzeit Management: monthly creation of yahrzeit letters and weekly creation of yahrzeit list.
Prepare member communications to include: Yahrzeit letters and lists, Birthday calls,
Shabbat Support to include coordination of weekly Clergy soloists and Cantors, Yahrzeit lists, weekly Shabbat pamphlet
Manage the Rabbi’s mussar classes
BS/BA degree preferred, Associate two-year degree and equivalent related work experience acceptable
•Relevant experience in Marketing and Communication with Administrative Experience preferred
Skilled in Social Media Marketing
Proficient in common office software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Power Point, Publisher, Zoom, Streamspot, other virtual platforms etc.)
Proficiency in graphics design a plus
Willingness to learn new software and apps
Comfortability with being on zoom and other virtual platforms
Evening and weekend work may be necessary, including work on Jewish holidays as needed
Willingness to learn and model Mussar values
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of Boston-wide Jewish Community
ShulCloud knowledge highly desired
