JDC, the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organization, is seeking to hire an inspiring fundraiser with outstanding relationship skills and an understanding of donor engagement to serve as a Senior Development Officer. This role requires an authentic passion for JDC's mission and demonstrated success in work with donors and volunteers in not-for-profits.
What will you do as a Senior Development Officer?
-Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects with a focus on gifts of $10,000 and above
-Serve as the staff person for the Ambassadors Committee and work closely with Ambassadors leadership; The Ambassadors program is JDC's major donor engagement platform
-Develop and implement the strategic plan for cultivation, stewardship, and recognition for various donor constituencies
-Work closely with the Virtual Engagement Team to create meaningful, engaging and inspiring virtual programming for Ambassadors and prospects
-Create new recognition opportunities for major donors in a variety of giving categories
-Work closely with colleagues to create exciting and inspiring events and travel opportunities for donors and Ambassadors
-Record all major contacts/activities with donors and prospects according to JDC procedures
What qualifications do you need to be our Senior Development Officer?
-Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
-Strong presentation skills, with the ability to inspire individuals and audiences
-Prior experience meeting or exceeding goals to build and maintain relationships with major individual donors and donor programming, especially in the Jewish community
-Excellent knowledge of the Jewish nonprofit landscape and funding community, and an existing network within that landscape
-A self-starter who is able to work on one’s own and efficiently
-Outstanding engagement skills, able to get creative about donor involvement
-A commitment and passion for the work of the JDC, global Jewish issues, and donor engagement, and the ability to effectively translate that to diverse audiences
-Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
-Employment Type: Full-Time
-Hours: 8:45 AM – 4:45PM, flexibility to adjust hours as needed to communicate with staff in other time zones, and anticipated longer hours leading up to Board Meetings and events

-Other: Ability to travel domestically and overseas 3-4 times/year required
What are the compensation and benefits for a Senior Development Officer?
This is a full-time, salaried position paid semi-monthly. This role is exempt per the FLSA.
