Development Associate

The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Development Associate to join our dedicated team of fundraising professionals. We are looking for someone who will engage community members through a variety of fundraising and engagement initiatives, programs and events. The ideal candidate has experience working with volunteers, relationship building and working in teams.

Job Description Overview:
The Development Associate is an integral part of the Development Team, which is responsible for raising annual, supplemental and endowed funds. The Development Associate will help Jewish Baltimore by connecting people and resources to our mission., which strengthens and nurtures Jewish life by engaging and supporting community partners in Greater Baltimore, Israel and around the world.

What You Will Do:
• Cultivate, solicit and steward donors, and play a role in prospect identification and donor acquisition
• Strategically create and implement opportunities for donors and prospective donors from a variety of backgrounds to connect with the community and The Associated system
• Train and support volunteer leadership by preparing written material and oral communication for meetings and events
• Empower current and future donors to feel a high degree of ownership, involvement and commitment toward The Associated’s mission
• Ensure accuracy and maintain confidentiality of donor information on The Associated’s database
• Actively participate in Development Department and Associated meetings
• Represent The Associated and maintain a personable profile in the community with a high degree of professionalism

What You Have Accomplished:
• One to three years of fundraising, non-profit, sales, or volunteer experience
• Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree is a plus

• You are willing to work select evenings and occasional Sundays
• You have reliable transportation
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
