The Yeshivah of Flatbush (YOF) is a co-educational modern Orthodox Yeshivah in New York educating close to 2,100 students on its Elementary and High School campuses.
Over generations, we have graduated more than twelve thousand students sharing our commitment to Torah, Mitzvot, and Zionism, and a love of the Hebrew language. We pride ourselves on our unique complement of Jewish and American values and an education that synthesizes Torah and General Studies with an unparalleled offering of extra-curricular activities, all in an atmosphere of inquiry and exploration.
Our mission at the Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School is to inspire, challenge, and support our students to grow into adults who have compassion, scholarship, and a commitment to Torah u’Mitzvot, Am Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael. A focus for our dedicated teachers and staff is to cultivate strong relationships with our students throughout their high school years. We empower our graduates to succeed, lead, and serve in institutions of higher learning, their communities and the world at large.
In addition to our rich core curriculum, we offer wide ranging and challenging AP courses and electives to match student interest and prepare our students for college and career. Students explore their personal interests under the guidance and support of individual faculty members in our Tsei U’lemad independent study courses. Our pioneering Pathfinders Program offers every high school student the ability to pursue their passions, strengthen their college portfolios, build resumes and network with industry professionals.
With well over 150 extracurricular offerings, including award-winning school publications, acclaimed drama performances and unique Flatbush chesed programs, we provide students with some of the most dynamic and inspiring opportunities available. Programs and classes are designed to enhance the religious and spiritual identities of our students and allow them to grow into compassionate, conscientious and connected members of Klal Yisrael.
The recent expansion of the Al and Sonny Gindi Campus, with its modern and uplifting architectural design filled with natural light, has transformed the student and staff experience at our High School. Modeled after university-style libraries, our expansive new space has become the primary home for independent learning and study, with flex-space conference rooms that allow for group study, small classes, extracurricular meetings and student-teacher consultations. The Stein Student Commons, with its indoor and outdoor seating café, has become the social hub of the High School buzzing with activity and conversations among faculty and students.
