Development Associate

The Rashi School is seeking a talented development professional with excellent communications skills to provide high-quality operational support and development services coordination. The Development Associate reports to the Director of Alumni Relations and Events to implement the department’s communications, engagement, and donor relations strategies and support in a variety of event planning and donor research related tasks. As a key member of the Development Team the Development Associate is charged with optimizing functionality and ensuring quality control and best practices for donor management.

Responsibilities Include:
Communications and Events
Oversee creative production and distribution of regular external emails. Develop text and graphics templates. Liaison with School Communications Manager to assist in creation and distribution of appeal letters, email-blasts, and marketing materials.
Assist Development Team in establishing meaningful constituent engagement effective communication via letters, email, web, social media, LinkedIn, and other appropriate vehicles.
Assist with writing and executing blast emails including a quarterly e-newsletter, creating frequent “alumni spotlight” profiles for social media.
Assist Director of Alumni Relations & Events in planning and executing special events ranging from 10 to 500 participants, including The Rashi School’s Annual Dinner, Limud Celebration, Generations Day, Alumni Networking, and Major Donor donor cultivation and stewardship events.
Create and manage event invitations, invitation lists and track guest responses.
Track and coordinate event revenue and generate appropriate tracking reports and data analysis.

Operational Support and Development Services Coordination
Assist with select internal Development meeting preparation including booking rooms, creating agendas, assembling briefing materials, taking meeting minutes, and making travel and conference call arrangements.
Generate specialized donor lists for solicitation and stewardship analysis.
Maintain and develop relationships with donors and prospective donors.
Assist with donor research and moves management.
Additional Development and School responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a non-profit organization, independent school and/or experience in event planning and communications.
Strong writing and communication skills. Writing sample will be requested.
Strong technology skills, including proficiency in GoogleApps including Gmail, GoogleDocs, Google Calendar; creating and manipulating spreadsheets, assorted documents; web and email contact technology and programs, such as Constant Contact.
Database experience preferred, Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or similar donor management system
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented and analytical
Ability to multi-task and to work under pressure.
Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times.
Work effectively both independently and in a team.
Able to work occasional nights and weekends

Physical Requirements:
Able to sit, type, twist, bend, use computers and telephones.
Able to communicate and interact verbally.
