Hebrew Free Burial Association is looking for an Outreach Coordinator
HFBA arranges nearly 400 burials each year for Jews who lack family, friends, or financial resources. Many clients come to us from nursing homes and other long term care facilities. We want to be pro-active in raising awareness of the crucial need for all residents in such facilities to have end of life plans in place and to educate social workers and their administrators about HFBA’s services. The candidate will work closely with HFBA’s funeral arrangement team and Director of Operations.
This position necessitates an organized and well-spoken individual with social work, client care or marketing experience, and fluency in a second language besides English is a plus. It is essential that the candidate is comfortable calling facilities and speaking at their staff meetings. Excellent phone skills are required for outreach and follow-up. Knowledge of excel a must.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to)
Record keeping: updating care facility database and maintaining the data.
Writing detailed and articulate memos and correspondence.
Outreach: meeting with facility administrators and social workers to discuss end of life planning and HFBA’s services. Working with social workers and individuals to set up pre-need funeral arrangements or to register potential clients.

• pre-need forms and pending applications
• information about HFBA’s services
Job entails willingness to travel post-pandemic to facilities in the greater NYC metro area.
