Job Title: Technology Director and Educator (Long-Term Substitute or Permanent Position)
Reports to: K – 8 Director
FLSA: Full-time

Kadima Day School is seeking a Technology Director and Educator (long-term substitute or permanent position) for elementary and middle school.

Job Summary: The Technology Director and Educator is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive program of educational technology across the elementary and middle schools. In addition, s/he is responsible for troubleshooting and triaging computers, other devices, applications, peripherals, and technical systems, in coordination with an offsite IT consultant. Responsibilities include promoting the safety and wellbeing of all students, including digital citizenship; planning and implementing learner-centered curriculum in technology and STEAM; teaching students technological strategies, skills, and perspectives in dedicated technology lessons; leading electives and clubs, such as coding, robotics, and yearbook; partnering with classroom and subject specialist teachers to incorporate technological platforms, tools, and media in their teaching; and infusing computational thinking and global collaboration throughout the school program.

Job Duties:

- Develop and implement a balanced technology/STEAM education curriculum, including elements of digital content, cutting-edge learning theory, and educational devices
- Plan and implement technological experiences outside of the classroom, including clubs, electives, assemblies, and community events
- Cultivate in students a love and understanding of technology, and encourage students to become empowered learners through digital competency
- Train and support teachers to develop technology-enriched learning activities and designs within their physical and, or virtual classrooms.
- Infuse digital culture throughout the school program
- Serve as onsite technical resource and problem solver for staff and students
- In coordination with the offsite technology consultant, effectively manage technology resources while ensuring the continued reliable
operation of devices, applications, and systems
- Maintain, monitor, and upgrade internet services to provide functionality and safety
- Maintain, monitor, and upgrade intranet services
- Supervise, maintain and upgrade personal computers, printers, projectors, document cameras, and other technology devices
- Coordinate, troubleshoot, and perform repairs to technology devices
- Evaluate and advise on necessary materials and upgrades needed to maintain a functioning technology system
- Oversight of email communication systems, website, technical support, and security and safety measures for personal computers
- Coordinate upgrades of software

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- California teaching credential (technology education) or its equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of digital platforms, tools, media, methods, and design processes
- Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- ISTE certification strongly preferred
- 3 years of teaching experience strongly preferred
- Hebrew language proficiency preferr**************************
