Our client is an Early Childhood through Grade 12 Jewish day school rooted in the Sephardic tradition and dedicated to academic excellence, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. As a school rooted in Halacha and Mesorah, they are committed to ensuring that each student receives a comprehensive dual-curriculum education with emphasis on academic achievement, ingenuity, and at the same time, heritage.
As a community, they equip their students with the ability to confidently interact with an ever-changing modern world through the prism of Torah values, and to cultivate within them a deep understanding of and love for the people and land of Israel.
This is a new position, as the Yeshiva plans to open a Girls High School for the 2021-2022 school year. They desire to fill the position as soon as possible. The position will report to the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate is a Frum woman, with both Jewish & Secular education experience and credentials.
• The Menahelet will be responsible for creating and sustaining an environment of academic and professional excellence for students and faculty in a collaborative working environment. She will collaborate with the Yeshiva’s Principal.
• As an instructional leader, she would have responsibility for overseeing the Judaic and Curriculum of the High School, supervising teachers, communicating with parents, and organizing the policies and procedures of a professionally run organization.
• The Menahelet of the Girls High School would be part of an administrative team, with colleagues from pre-school, lower school, and middle school, working as a member of this team for the success of the School.
• Recruit and retain, inspire and manage, lead and develop a high caliber team of inspiring staff who deliver quality education and inspire students
Recruitment and Retention of students, along with strong parent communication, would be a part of the expected areas of involvement, along with a strong community presence as a representative of the Yeshiva’s Hashkafa and its mission.
• Ensure the school delivers the highest quality education that promotes a love of learning and excellence for all its students.
• Ensure the curriculum is up to date with best practice in all areas including using, as well as embedding, technology within the curriculum, ensuring our students of today are prepared for the world of tomorrow.
• Cultivate an environment that promotes cooperative interaction, critical thinking, discovery, invention, and problem solving.
• Ensure effective communication among and between faculty, staff, parents, lay leaders, volunteers, funders, and community partners, utilizing both formal and informal means.
• Establish policies and procedures for student support and oversight that maximize the academic and behavioral developments of each student.
• Meeting fiscal and budgetary goals
• Leads and manages the day-to-day operations with Torah ideals, empathy, skill, compassion and humor
• Maintains top-tier faculty through the selection, support and development of individual teachers and the nurturing of a positive professional culture that strives for excellence
• Collaborates with educational administration to foster and engender an environment that supports positive learning, student engagement while running a well-organized school
• Experience starting a High school, a plus
• Master’s degree or above in Education or related fields.
• One or more graduate degrees in education, educational administration, Jewish education and/or Jewish studies
• Five or more years of professional leadership experience in a high school and/or middle school.
• Experience with educational technology and its successful integration
• An engaging teacher and speaker to students and the broad community.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Dynamic and charismatic personality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Diplomatic when necessary; candid when appropriate
• Con?dent public speaker
