Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world. We believe that service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. By 2030, Repair will inspire and catalyze one million acts of service towards repairing the world.
Serve the Moment
Serve the Moment (StM) is a project powered by Repair the World and supported by over 40 Jewish organizations, known as the Jewish Service Alliance (JSA), that are committed to service in the wake of Covid 19. Together we have set out to complete 100,000 acts of service over the course of this next year in response to the effects of the Coronavirus and racial injustice in the US.
Serve the Moment has 3 strategic areas of focus:
Service Corps made up of hundreds of young adults in part-time service
Episodic Service - virtual and in-person
National, issue-based campaigns to mobilize tens of thousands of young Jewish adults and JSA partner organizations in meaningful service and learning
Repair the World is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to serve as its Education and Campaigns Manager. The Education and Campaigns Manager will oversee all planning, logistics, and execution of weekly learning for Corps Members. They will manage time bound, thematic campaigns including partnerships, coordinating educational content, and overseeing the creation of materials and toolkits.
The Service Corps, made up of hundreds of part-time volunteers who have all committed to volunteering and service learning, will engage in a series of educational opportunities. We are looking for a talented, organized educator/facilitator who can create, implement, and manage this learning series. This person should have strong organizational and logistical skills along with experience in facilitation and education.
Over the course of the year, Serve the Moment, Serve the Moment will enact four time-bound service service campaigns. The Education and CampaignsManager will implement the content creation, including toolkits, reaching out to partners for engagement and training, and overseeing the management of the campaigns from inception to implementation.
Service Corps Education and Administration (60%)
In collaboration with JSA partners and other educators, coordinate weekly virtual service learning opportunities, engaging and embracing the pluralistic nature of our constituencies
Hold all logistics of service learning and training (e.g. administrative logistics, communications, liaising with external and internal educators, etc.)
In coordination with Repair staff, source outstanding educators for learning sessions with Corps Members
Coordinate all logistics with educators
Recruit a diverse array of educators from the JSA partner organizations and other local educators
Tap into the networks of existing staff and leverage a personal network of educators
Ensure education is experiential and modalities are varied
National Campaigns (40%)
Oversee four national time-bound service campaigns centered around key issue areas including in-person service and digital engagement to mobilize tens of thousands of young people throughout the year.
Oversee the creation and implementation of campaign educational and instructional materials that will inspire and mobilize thousands of young adults in episodic and virtual service
Coordinate with StM staff and JSA partners to build toolkits to enact themed service campaigns.
Collaborate with strategic staff at Repair the world to create the digital footprint, social media strategy, and internal outreach and programming efforts.
Train JSA partner organization staff on the four themes of these campaigns (e.g. hunger, education, racial equity)
Collect and curate all Jewish content for national campaigns from content experts as well as partner organizations
Demonstrate excellence in experiential Jewish learning: At a time when all learning is taking place online, it is critical to create more engaging and experienced learning sessions for young adults.
Commitment to Diversity Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Pluralistic Jewish Education: Serve the Moment attracts young adults from a wide array of Jewish and other intersecting backgrounds. A successful manager will celebrate and have a decent knowledge and appreciation of the multiple points of entry for the various participants.
Program development and change management: You will be working in a fast-paced team that operates like a start-up. A successful manager demonstrates flexibility and is able to pivot and welcome course corrections in real-time.
Deep interpersonal and communication skills: Forming and maintaining relationships with educators and content providers in order to provide customized content
Agility, optimism, and judgment in driving growth: An ability to seize opportunities, learning and course-correcting in real-time. Skills in relationship building across communities.
Sophisticated awareness of poverty, structural racism, power and privilege, and ability to discuss these issues with diverse groups in ways that empower and open people to learning.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 4 years of professional experience
Advanced Judaic knowledge and significant experience teaching or facilitating, including online education
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Familiarity and experience creating curriculum
Sophisticated familiarity with the Jewish community of North America
Participated in or led a volunteer service learning or experiential education program
Commitment to building pluralistic and social justice-oriented Jewish community

Compensation for this role is dependent on location and starts at $60,000 if you are in New York City and have 4+ years related experience, but will be adjusted based on cost of living if you reside elsewhere.
