Job Summary and Scope
Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School is an extraordinary independent Jewish day school serving 450 students, ages three through grade 8. A pluralistic, community day school, Bernard Zell welcomes students and families of varied religious observance. Located on Chicago’s near north side, Bernard Zell combines Jewish learning and traditions with the best of innovative educational practices in a rigorous and nurturing learning environment.

The school community seeks an outgoing, engaging Marketing Associate beginning July 2020. This is a tremendous opportunity for an innovative person who can build relationships and develop partnerships in relation to the school’s admissions and engagement experiences. The ideal candidate is a high energy, self-motivated extrovert with a positive attitude. As a member of a small team, this is a hands-on position where resourcefulness and ingenuity are assets. This role requires a high level of creativity, independent thinking, attention to detail, creative writing, and project management skills.

Essential Duties

Develop, implement and manage marketing campaigns that promote Bernard Zell to the broader community

Identify and evaluate new digital technologies and use web analytics tools to measure site traffic to better optimize marketing campaigns, email marketing, social media and display and search advertising

Develop marketing content geared toward young families, including social media posts, e-newsletters, word-of-mouth campaigns and other projects as assigned

Utilize technology, especially website and e-communications (i.e. Finalsite), social media platforms, analytic tools, video editing, photography, and graphics software

Generate ideas for new programs and virtual outreach strategy, and manage multiple events (virtual and in-person) from concept to completion

Act as an influencer through organizing and attending (virtual and in-person) coffees, meetings, site visits, classes and other programs within the community, generating leads and stewarding them through the enrollment pipeline

Collaborate on all aspects of the prospective parent application process; lead parent tours and parent interviews as needed

Other duties as assigned in collaboration with advancement team (fundraising, development, admissions)

Qualifications and Skills


Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple constituencies

Comfort with public speaking and presenting in front of large groups

Strong customer service ethic and exceptional judgment

Results-oriented and able to effectively prioritize work in a dynamic environment

Experience producing content for the web specifically, as well as channel-specific knowledge

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other design platforms

Familiarity with website management, and managing, maintaining and manipulating CRM database

Some evening and weekend work

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required, 3-5 years of experience

Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage and traditions
