The Frances Jacobson Early Childhood Center at Temple Israel of Boston is a preeminent Boston area preschool with a national reputation for excellence in early childhood education. FJECC was established over twenty-five years ago to meet the needs of young children and their families. Today, it is widely seen to be a very special place: “a small school that does big things” for all members of its community.
FJECC is committed to providing the highest quality education in both secular and Judaic studies in a safe, nurturing and non-pressured environment under the guidance of the highest caliber teachers. The program enrolls children ages 1 year 9 months through five years of age, and its “graduates” go on to attend a wide range of outstanding Jewish and secular, public and independent next schools.
The next director of FJECC will build upon founding director, Helen Cohen’s vision to establish a school where early childhood teaching and learning are both joyous and purposeful. S/he will possess the expertise, empathy, and energy to ensure that FJECC remains a leading Boston area preschool for many years to come.
