Assistant to the Associate Head of School for Academic Affairs

The Assistant to the Associate Head of School for Academic Affairs and Strategic Initiatives
reports directly to the Associate Head of School for Academic Affairs and Strategic Initiatives
(AHOS). This position supports the AHOS through calendar management, coordination of
multiple priorities and direct caring and effective interaction with numerous school
constituencies. The position requires a high level of understanding of the complex dynamics of
the organization and the ability to act with independent judgment, initiative and discretion.

Coordinate various meetings, workshops and events.
Manage the calendar of the AHOS.
Oversee travel, hotel, and conference arrangements.
Keeps abreast of school events, activities and programs that require the AHOS’s attention
or presence.
Create Google documents, surveys, forms and track data.
Collaborate with division administrative assistant teams on special projects.
Represent Milken Community Schools and the AHOS to all constituencies, including
students, parents, faculty/staff and leadership.
Serve as the first point of contact for a wide variety of relationships between the AHOS
and external contacts.
Handle phone and email inquiries and respond appropriately.
Draft and edit correspondence, articles, reports and presentations .
Coordinate and manage special projects, including working collaboratively with staff to
assure projects meet deadlines.
Work as a member of the team, willingly providing back-up support for co-workers when
appropriate and actively supporting group goals.
Balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, ensure the completion of
essential projects, and meet critical deadlines.
Promptly respond to requests with accuracy and courteous demeanor.
Other duties as assigned by AHOS.

Demonstrates high level of technical proficiency, including Google apps.
Has a Bachelor’s degree.
