We seek a creative, dynamic, passionate, entrepreneurial professional – alumnus/alumna of the movement preferred -- with strong organizational, development, and relationship-building skills to serve as our Development Officer. This professional is responsible for identifying, researching, engaging and soliciting Judaean alumni, families and friends with the capacity to make $1,000- $25,000 contributions to our “Independence” campaign and will also assist the Director of Development with larger gift opportunities. As a key member of the Development & Alumni Relations team, the Development Officer will strategize and collaborate closely with the rest of Young Judaea staff – camp, Israel, year-round programs, marketing, finance and administration—and with alumni lay leaders, board members and chanichim. This portfolio includes individual prospects as well as foundations. The Development Officer is supervised by the Director of Development.
Design, execute and monitor organization’s mass/grassroots annual campaign, in partnership with other members of the Development team.
Implement strategy for fundraising events around the country, including at least one yearly “Gala” (in New York City).
Identify and research individual prospects and current donors by using existing internal databases and networking.
Manage all aspects of donor engagement and stewardship, partnering with other staff, Board and lay volunteers as appropriate to solicit gifts face to face.
Responsible for a portfolio of 50 individual donors – stewardship, solicitation and ongoing contact.
Design and manage donor recognition program(s).
Design and implement systems within the fundraising CRM/Database (including research, evaluation, moves management, tracking, and reporting) to ensure that constituents are appropriately cultivated and recognized.
Pitch in to do whatever’s needed to build a new department and renewed organization.
Reports to the Director of Development.
Young Judaean alumna/alumnus preferred – will consider those with deep passion for Israel, activism and Jewish life as well.
5+ Years Development Experience.
Great customer-focused people skills.
Entrepreneurial, self-driven, unflappable, flexible.
Effective communicator, oral and written, and exceptional interpersonal and listening skills.
Ability to use donor database systems, communication and on-line technologies with ease (knowledge of Salesforce preferred).
