Mishkan Shalom, a dynamic, diverse, progressive and inclusive Jewish community, seeks a creative, passionate and organized Education Director to join a committed team of Rabbis, staff and lay leaders in guiding our outstanding congregational school through its next chapter of growth and development.
The Education Director will work 30 hours per week providing vision and oversight for a congregational school that currently serves approximately 60 students with a strong intent to grow and expand. Students from Mishkan Shalom represent our diverse community and share our commitment tikkun olam, spiritual life, inclusivity, and diversity. The religious school runs on a typical school calendar with sessions on Wednesday evenings and Sundays mornings.
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, community-oriented educator with energy and creativity. Deep knowledge of Judaism, teaching experience, strong communications skills, bachelor’s degree required, master’s or other advanced degree preferred. Clergy-Educators also most welcome to apply.
Responsibilities include the following:
-Hiring, supervising, and mentoring teachers.
-Managing school budget
-Hitting enrollment targets
-Being school liaison to congregation, Rabbis, education committee, and synagogue staff
-Managing facility during school hours
-Coordinating B’nai mitzvot and family education
-Developing programming for teens
