About Sklut Hillel Center at Elon University
An Elon student recently said, “all students, Jewish and non-Jewish think Jewish life at Elon is cool.” It’s true. Jewish Life at Elon is vibrant and has more than doubled in the past 10 years – from 5% to 11% of the current undergraduate population of 750.

There is no one kind of Elon Jewish student. Our community is intentionally pluralistic and welcoming of all students, Jewish and non-Jewish. Hillel at Elon is dynamic, student-run, and student-centered, with a variety of programs and opportunities for all students. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in our diverse range of programs, as together we celebrate our own traditions and learn about others. The Jewish Life Student Engagement Coordinator helps shape our dynamic, vibrant community.

Elon University’s commitment to experiential learning, outstanding teaching and mentoring, global experiences, and its excellent four year graduation has made it a top 100 National University. Our campus has also been nationally recognized as being one of the most beautiful in the country. Located in a small town without a large Jewish population, Elon University’s Hillel is the largest Jewish entity in its county. But Elon is close to the active Jewish communities in neighboring Greensboro and Durham, both of which boast many young Jewish professionals.

About Hillel International
In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at more than 550 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.

Elon University is affiliated with Hillel International. Hillel International enriches the lives of Jewish students so they may enrich the Jewish people and the world, and envisions a world where every student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel.
