The assistant will perform a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties in order to efficiently assist the Rabbi and office staff.
Receiving calls and inquiries for meetings with the Rabbi
Rabbi's scheduling and reminder calls
Creating and preparing documents as requested by the Rabbi
Responding to life-cycle emergencies by working with the Rabbi to attend to family needs
Managing communications and advertising by creating synagogue wide community emails about upcoming events/news releases, etc.
Create weekly Shabbat information pamphlets for Friday night services
Managing the Rabbi's and temple calendar
Assisting with duties with administrative duties related to the High Holy Days and other Jewish holidays
Preforming front desk/receptionist duties as asked including answering telephones, screening calls, taking messages and/or responding to congregants needs as requested \Work with various office machines including copiers, scanners, computers, etc.
Any other duty as requested not specified
Must be familiar with using tools such as G-Suite (gmail, google drive, google calendar, etc.), Shulcloud, Adobe and Constant Contact
Must be a team player, work well with others and comfortable collaborating with office staff as well as temple members
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many distractions
Basic knowledge of Judaism is preferred but not necessary
Strong written and verbal skills
Must have ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
Job Hours Requested: 12pm - 5pm Monday thru Friday and some weekends as needed
