Administrative Coordinator

Park Slope Jewish Center is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. This role of Administrative Coordinator is an integral part of our office team, supporting our Synagogue Administrator, Rabbi, and membership. This position requires an individual who is warm, articulate, and engaging with excellent written communication skills. Familiarity with Judaism and the Hebrew calendar is a plus.

This is a non-exempt, full-time position. Annual salary range is $45-$48K depending on experience. We provide a generous vacation package, paid holidays, and the opportunity to work with a small team of dedicated professionals. We offer the opportunity to participate in a group health insurance program. This position reports to the Synagogue Administrator.

Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Member Engagement: addressing member requests, working with members on event planning and logistics, first point of contact on phone
and in office

2. Administrative Support: invoice and member data input, administrative assistant to the Rabbi and Synagogue Administrator, weekly kiddush order and supply management, monthly digital yahrzeit reminders

3. Social Media: e-Blast, website, social media, calendar, bulletin

Preferred Skills:
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing
-The ability to get along and work with a diverse group of people in a friendly, engaging, productive way
-Shulcloud or similar CRM
-Quickbooks or similar accounting software
-Proficiency with Google docs
-Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator proficiency a plus
-Social media management

The ideal candidate will have completed a degree in English, business, or a related field.

Given the nature of the work, this position requires availability during special events and programs from time to time; weekly hours may alter around major Jewish holidays. This is a non-exempt position.

We are a small staff of committed professionals who work closely for the benefit of our members and community; we are seeking to hire a like-minded individual.

Regular Hours:
Monday: 8:30AM-5:00PM
Tuesday-Wednesday 10AM-6PM
Thursday: 8:30AM-5:00PM
Friday: 8AM-3PM
