OFFICE ASSISTANT – Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills Milton, MA

The Office Assistant is a part time position (approx. 18 to 20 hours/week) shared with two others. There is a possibility of additional hours at busy times. This team of three supports our Rabbi, President, Board of Directors and Director of Education. This position will have considerable interaction with synagogue members, prospective members and the general public. We are looking for a flexible team member with administrative experience that can also work independently with minimal direction.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Act as a point of contact for all administrative issues.
General office responsibilities.
Phones, filing, ordering supplies, emails, daily mail, and outgoing correspondence.
Prepare, type, and format a wide variety of material; such as. flyers, programs, postcards.
Responsible for the social media presence of our synagogue (Facebook, website, internet postings, etc.)
Banking and Accounting responsibilities.
Maintain excel spreadsheets.
Management of website calendar
Provide administrative support for meetings, presentations, projects.
Event planning for synagogue life cycle events (weddings, bar/bat mitzvah, etc)
Planning of congregational dinners, kiddush, oneg, etc.
3-5 years' experience as an Administrative /Office Assistant. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Constant Contact, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher. Knowledge of social media and web/html and power point desired.
Previous religious institution experience is a plus.
