The Senior Grants and Planning Associate will support JCFS Chicago's programs for people with disabilities and to support social and emotional wellbeing in the greater Chicagoland community by developing grants and related planning initiatives.
-Proactively identify grant opportunities in support of new and ongoing agency programs.
-Cultivate relationships with foundation prospects and partners on behalf of JCFS.
-Responsible for proposal writing, budget development, and submission of reports, working with programs, accounting, Continuous Quality Improvement and other staff as needed.
-Collaborate with JCFS staff and community partners to develop programs in response to community need, as articulated in agency strategic plan.
-Provides support to other development department activities as assigned, including fundraising events and donor development.
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
-A minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in grant writing, with proven track record securing private and government grants in support of human service programs
-Excellent written and verbal communication, research, budget, and organization skills.
-Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks, produce quality products under tight time constraints, think creatively and also attend to details, and work independently as well as collaboratively.
-Ability to represent the department and the agency in a positive and professional manner.
-This position will travel between multiple agency sites and will be responsible for their own means of transportation whether public transportation or personal automobile.
-Proficient in MS Word and Excel; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
