Spertus Institute seeks an Associate Dean for Outreach to grow enrollment, expand reach, and advance the reputation of the organization and its programs. As Spertus carries out its historical mission and pursues the goals it has articulated in an exciting new Strategic Plan, developing relationships with the community is essential. Engaging thought leaders, organizational heads, community leaders, alumni, and individual prospective students is central to the success of all its work. This will be the area of impact for this new position.
The Associate Dean for Outreach reports directly to the Dean/Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and oversees the Director of Enrollment.
> Oversee market assessment and advancement of Spertus programs through careful attention to community needs, trends, strategic outreach, and institutional branding, working in close collaboration with Spertus Institute's professional Marketing and Communications team.
> Develop and implement a sophisticated recruitment and enrollment plan, and, as part of that work, develop relationships with key leaders and directors at local, regional, national, and international organizations that will serve as consistent pipelines of students for Spertus programs.
> Work with the Director of Enrollment to cultivate and recruit individual applicants.
> Oversee the admissions processes, identifying the best applicants and facilitating the application and admissions process, easing students’ transitions into their graduate studies at Spertus Institute.
> Understand the needs of communities, organizations, and individuals, and develop recommendations for outreach, service, and new program development.
> Build and oversee a robust and cohesive alumni relations program, leveraging these important relationships that help to advance recruitment, reputation, revenue, and program development. Work with the Development office to create effective alumni campaigns and stewardship programs.
Earned Master's degree in a related field.
Five to seven years of experience in relationship management.
Knowledge of the national or international Jewish community.
Experience with leadership training or professional education a plus.
RELATED SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE
Must have strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking/presentation skills.
Must be aware of current trends in the field.
Must have proven success in working with diverse constituents.
Language skills: Hebrew a plus.
Travel: As needed to meet with community and organizational leaders, and to select conferences for recruitment and relationship building.
