Director of Community Engagement

Hours: Monday-Friday 40+ hours (Some nights and weekends may be required)

Job type: Full-time; Exempt; $70,000-$95,000 DOE

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

The Director of Community Engagement is the creative and expressive executive leader on our administrative team. There are two main (encompassing and interlocking) arenas to the role: Communications and Creative Executive Leadership.

Communications:

Responsible for creating all content for congregational communication. In-reach and outreach communications, including learning current practices, with the goal of nimbly innovating the ways we tell our story.

  • Lead professional for all ShulCloud management and maintenance, including learning, implementing, and teaching software updates and strategies to Operations and Senior Staff
  • Weekly email newsletter
  • Social media posting - strategy and implementation
  • Congregant email response, phone connections, contact
  • Internal staff team communication hub
  • Website transition - analysis (What is it? How do we use it? What do we do with it?), performance metrics, and upkeep
  • Broaden scope of centralized communication through messaging apps

Potential new avenues to explore:

  • Text or other means of contact for ongoing and emergent communications
  • Quarterly flipbook
  • Recreating all communications documents to reflect Solel voice
  • Meticulous cull through all copy connected to Temple Solel
  • In-person communication (i.e., utilizing our gatherings for more fulsome expressions of story - for purposes of information dissemination as well as community narrative). Old school, new school.
  • ? Mechanisms for feedback in all directions -- congregational, staff, etc.

Creative Executive Leadership:

Coaching staff team on best practices and processes to take stellar ideas from brainstorm to reality.

  • Coordination with CEO for High Holy Day Season - systems, operations, expressions and implementations
  • Visions and Operations Guru of Membership Renewal Process - logistics, runway, paperwork and processes
  • Initiative in challenging status quo while understanding complex pathways that have led to the present
  • Active leadership in staff team from dreaming through execution and calendaring meetings
  • Elevate /Initiate creative approach to become more modern or next level
  • Support Leadership team in streamlining our purpose through ideas, shared language and storytelling

Idea generating and implementation for the interweaving congregant connections

  • Chavurah -- or next generation/iteration
  • Engagement -- what we used to call “volunteers” - covenantal commitments and processes for co-creating communal endeavors and encounters
  • Spiritual and Intellectual Enrichment -- working with clergy and leadership staff to envision and implement meaningful, gold-standard opportunities for rich, mature, profound and playful enrichments.
  • New member integration -- running next to the bike
  • Religious School Parent cohorts -- in collaboration with RS Director
  • Explore verticals to current opportunities/engagements

Working in close partnership with and in support of our CEO; brainstorm opportunities for robust financial thriving, such as local and national grants.

Leadership level generative collaboration in creating and carrying out of Core Values. (What are they? How do we integrate and live them? - With staff and larger community).

A pillar of the staff team who confidently nourishes donor relationships of sincerity, longevity, and depth.

Salary70,000.00 - 95,000.00 Annual
