About itrek

itrek launched in 2011 with a mission to empower leaders to engage their networks in meaningful Israel experiences, fostering an understanding and appreciation of Israel’s unique culture, diversity, richness and complex reality. More than 25,000 graduate students representing 130 nationalities from schools in the U.S., Canada and Europe have traveled to Israel through itrek. Over the last two years, itrek has expanded beyond graduate school students by piloting Launchpad, a program that connects with mission aligned leaders and organizations to create Israel Treks for their influential peers and members. In July 2024, Schusterman Family Philanthropies REALITY journeys was brought under itrek. REALITY will continue to bring leaders from diverse backgrounds and sectors on formative learning journeys to Israel.

 

Position Overview

The Launchpad Program Manager will have a dual responsibility of relationship building with partners and execution of the Israel Treks. The Program Manager will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the Israel trek, from partnering to create a meaningful itinerary, seamless execution of the Israel Trek and program evaluation. This role requires the ability to be flexible, adapt quickly to changes and work in a fast-paced environment. 

Reporting to the Director of Launchpad, the ideal candidate has a background in relationship management, program management, is detail-oriented, responsive, and excels in implementing and monitoring processes. The ideal candidate has a growth and learning mindset, a strong connection to Israel and understands the importance of a meaningful trip to Israel. A background in running Israel trips will be extremely beneficial for this role. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. itrek Leader Partnership: Partners with high-quality itrek leaders who buy into the itrek program and mission, to create and cultivate meaningful Israel trek experience.  
  2. Planning, Execution & Stewardship: Support partners (from advisor to hands-on execution, depending on the partner), including Israel Trek planning, itinerary design, budgeting, logistical guidance, and on-the-ground support. 
  • Manages the relationships with itrek Partners through constant communication and regular meetings.
  • Oversees the partnership between the key stakeholders, including the trip leaders and and the Israeli Tour Operator 
  • Serves as the central point of contact to itrek Partners regarding itrek inc. best practices, policies, reimbursements, and other administrative tasks.
  • Support Partners itinerary design including content and speakers to help them build balanced programs and engaging experiences
  • Periodically travel to Israel to support Israel treks on the ground to ensure the quality of their execution, and strengthen itrek’s reputation with its stakeholders.
  • Partner with marketing team to produce Israel trek materials 
  • Provide Israel trek support in travel arrangements

     3. Israel Trek Follow-up & Program Evaluation: Ownership of the follow-up for each Israel Trek including surveys and partner feedback to assess           the program’s impact and integrate key findings into future planning.

     4. Additional Responsibilities: Perform related Israel Trek and departmental tasks according to the organization’s needs.

 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • 3 - 5 years of partnership development experience, preference for experience in Israel engagement or travel-related programs
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Passion for itrek’s mission, strong connection to and knowledge of Israel 
  • Highly skilled in managing client relationships, program management and a solution oriented mindset 
  • Strong attention to detail, organized, time management and execution skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Possess a learning mindset and skilled in testing and tracking ideas, synthesizing learning and developing recommendations
  • Self-motivated, undeterred by obstacles or challenges, with a positive “can do” attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English required
  • Must be able to work effectively independently and with a team in a hybrid environment 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and concerns
  • Willing and able to travel within the US, Israel and abroad 
  • Proven proficiency with Google Workspace, and comfortable with technology to learn and utilize project management software tools

Salary range $63,000 - $75,000; commensurate with experience
