Description

We are looking for a full-time teacher to join our growing preschool. The position opens mid-August 2024, at the start of the new school year.  Cole Valley Gan Preschool (www.ColeValleyGan.com) is a Jewish play based child-centered program, and follows developmentally appropriate practices. We offer one mixed age classroom with a low teacher/child ratio, for children ages 18 months - 3 years.

Our teachers work in collaborative teams to plan engaging and unique learning experiences. We promote an environment where children can develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills for a successful and meaningful life. We are excited to welcome new team members to our school.

  • Compensation is based on experience and education, between $28 - $35 per hour.

Teacher Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To maintain and implement procedures to ensure the health and safety of the children
  • To establish and maintain positive, professional, and effective communication and supportive ties with children, staff, and parents.
  • To see relationships as the foundation of our wark and view children as being competent and capable. 
  • To interact with children in a manner that reflects respect and compassion
  • To understand, and articulate the philosophy of the school
  • To maintain professional standards and conduct and a positive work ethic
  • To respect the confidentiality of school-related information
  • To implement the emergent curriculum with co-teachers and the assistant Director according to the philosophy of the school
  • To participate in the documentation and keep track of development growth using our school Early Childhood Development Tracker. 
  • To attend all staff meetings and professional development opportunities
  • To assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff
  • Intentional, ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and appropriate classroom and play yard learning environment
  • To ensure that health and safety practices as well as the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of children are maintained in their classroom

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of early childhood development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • At least 6 months of experience working with toddler and/or preschool age children in a group setting, ie. preschool or daycare etc…
