Description

Ohel is seeking a Community Liaison for its new Family Enrichment Center opening in Brooklyn. The Community Liaison will serve as the primary connection between the Family Enrichment Center (FEC) and the local community. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with community members, leaders, and organizations to ensure that the FEC’s programs and services are responsive to the community's needs. The Community Liaison will facilitate communication, promote community involvement and advocate for the needs and interests of the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the FEC and conduct outreach at community events and venues 
  • Build partnerships between the FEC and community organizations, public institutions (e.g., schools), coalitions, and others to increase engagement with these entities and leverage resources or expertise for FEC offerings
  • Create guides, toolkits, or other resources that help increase access to, and awareness of, the FEC, especially for parents and caregivers of children and youth and those that are typically more isolated or marginalized
  • Support the FEC’s ability to connect caregivers and families to local resources, services, and other supports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree AND three (3) years of professional experience; OR a high school diploma AND five (5) years of professional experience in community-driven-programs working directly with children, youth and families 
  • Knowledge of, lived experience in, and commitment to the FEC community
  • Outstanding people/interpersonal, community organizing, collaboration, and advocacy skills

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently as well as within a team and has excellent follow up skills.  This full time position is based in Brooklyn and includes a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, as well as generous paid time off. Bilingual Hebrew, Yiddish, Spanish or Russian speaker is a plus.

Salary: $50,000 -$55,000
