Director of Administration
Camp Ramah New England, an organization running a coed Jewish overnight camp and two Jewish day camps, (headquartered in Norwood, MA,) is hiring a Director of Administration. The Director of Administration will oversee major camp administrative functions, as well as be responsible for developing and implementing new programs to enable the camp to function efficiently and with enhanced customer service. The focus will be on supporting the overnight camp in Palmer MA and the Boston Day Camp located in Waltham MA. The Director of Administration will support and work in partnership with the Senior Staff of the organization.
This is a new position for the camp, which arises from its tremendous growth over recent years. The camp has a budget of $10+ million and offers a dynamic experience for over 1500 Jewish youth and young adults each year. The Director of Administration will join a team of 20 other highly motivated year-round professionals.
The Director of Administration role demands a high level of proficiency in administrative and organizational management, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of database management systems, with experience in CampMinder considered a bonus. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (with an emphasis on Excel), communication platforms (such as Constant Contact), and WordPress is essential. The position also requires outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Our year-round office is in Norwood, MA (a Boston suburb). During the summer season, the Director of Administration can be based in Palmer, MA at our overnight camp making periodic trips to the day camp in Waltham, MA or could be based in our Norwood office making periodic trips to Palmer and Waltham.

Job Description -- The Director of Administration will:
- Participate as a member of the overnight camp Senior Team in the operation and functioning of camp.
- Manage our organization’s communication strategy and implementation.
- Be responsible for developing and implementing several key programs supporting the camp experience including but not limited to camper luggage, transportation and medication packaging.
- Be responsible for the oversight of the staff contract process.
- Plan and implement the programs and structure for opening and closing days and visiting day experiences.
- Expand the usage of our database management system, adding new & more detailed reporting.
Salary range starts at $60,000/year, commensurate with experience. Generous PTO, comprehensive health and dental coverage, 403 B plan, reduced summer camp tuition.
