About Us

The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) is the world’s longest continuously producing Yiddish theater company, dedicated to preserving and celebrating Jewish culture through innovative performances and educational programming.

 

Position Overview

NYTF seeks a Marketing and Graphic Design Independent Contractor to lead marketing and design efforts for its 2025 season, which includes concerts, SummerStage at Central Park (New York Sings Yiddish, June 30), the Off-Broadway production of Hannah Senesh (October–November 2025), online programming, and additional projects in development.

 

This role is responsible for designing and implementing marketing plans, ticket sales strategies, and branding while overseeing all visual and digital communications, including NYTF’s website, mailing list, and social media platforms. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with expertise in arts marketing, media planning, and graphic design.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and timelines to drive ticket sales and increase audience engagement.
  • Plan and manage media and advertising campaigns, including ad buying.
  • Work closely with NYTF’s press representative to maximize media coverage.
  • Oversee social media platforms, mailing lists, and digital communications to maintain and grow audience engagement.
  • Develop and enhance NYTF’s brand identity to attract diverse audiences in collaboration with leadership.
  • Design and oversee the creation of marketing assets for productions and programs, including print and digital materials.
  • Update and maintain the NYTF website, ensuring consistency in branding and user experience.
  • Analyze marketing performance metrics to optimize campaigns and engagement strategies.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing and graphic design, preferably within performing arts institutions in the NYC metro area.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, branding, and ticket sales tactics for live performances.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and website management (WordPress or similar platforms).
  • Experience managing social media platforms and email marketing tools.
  • Ability to strategize, execute, and track marketing campaigns with data-driven insights.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

 

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Contract Type: Independent Contractor
  • Fee: Commensurate with experience
  • Work Location: Remote, with NYC Metro Area preferred for networking and collaboration
