Description

We seek a meticulous and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team and manage our financial records with accuracy and integrity. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our financial department and will support the organization's continued growth and success. This is a full-time job with preference given to New York based applicants available to work in-person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts, and other bookkeeping tasks.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the finance team to streamline financial processes and enhance accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Handle any other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intaact) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Salary
The salary for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 annually.
