Title: Manager, Community Relations and Rose Project
Status: Full-time position working from the Federation offices in Irvine, CA

Jewish Federation of Orange County (JFedOC) is seeking a passionate professional to support programs and activities that leverage community relations and work to combat antisemitism in Orange County. This professional will promote initiatives that foster meaningful relationships across diverse segments of our community including faith groups, ethnic communities, schools, and public officials, further programs that strengthen Jewish identity through the lens of combating antisemitism, and support program coordination that will drive positive change in OC and beyond.
We seek a dedicated professional to work in consultation with the Senior Director to support the mission of the Federation by fostering strong community relations. Once here you will be asked to work on a wide range of projects (including, but not limited to):
- Support and promote Federation’s Jewish teen leadership program by the following actions (not an exhaustive list):
- Engage with Educational professionals (e.g., School Board officials and/or staff; District Personnel; School Principals, and other administrators) to encourage schools to promote the program within their schools
- Coordinate with the program coordinator to determine a priority order regarding the schools with which to work
- Conduct follow-up discussions and make evaluation surveys available to teachers and administrators after student presentations to determine the program’s effectiveness
- Promote OC-wide teacher training program
- Assist in the coordination of training sessions with Orange County-wide educators
- Assume the position of ‘liaison’ between the training provider, Jewish Federation, and the schools (public, independent, parochial) participating in ICS training
- Coordinate follow-up communication with the schools’ personnel (e.g., thank you notes, solicitation of continued participation in subsequent years)
- Promote and support the leadership training program
- Distribute electronic recruitment materials on a timely basis to promote participation
- Coordinate the dissemination of selected background material, electronically and/or in person.
- Organize the elements of virtual and in-person trainings
- Support the furthering of relationships with elected/public officials
- Support and promote the Federation’s annual community-based combating antisemitism summit
- Supervise/coordinate logistics, including signage, food/beverage, electronic support, security
- Supervise and organize post-event follow-up, including thank you letters and the dissemination of surveys
- Strategically recruit prospective participants and promote participation; monitor participants’ registration
- Support the development of relationships with other faith and ethnic communities
- Support for the Rose Council and its committees, including but not limited to:
- Distribution of agendas and accompanying material
- Writing and distribution of minutes
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Your experience and mindset:
- You have a positive track record of community/nonprofit organizing for a minimum of five years
- You are an enthusiastic advocate for Jewish Peoplehood and for the central role that Israel plays in Jewish identity formation
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You have the requisite technological skills required by a 21st-century office
- You are the quintessential team player who excels at and enjoys working with colleagues in a fast-paced environment
- You thrive at problem-solving and multitasking
- You are familiar with the organized Jewish community – locally and nationally – including the Jewish Federation system
- You believe in the mission and vision of Jewish Federation to strengthen the community and you desire to participate in our programs and events
