Hillel Coordinator at USC Columbia Hillel-CJFPart-time • Columbia, SC, US • $23-25/per hr Role Overview:As the Administration Associate at USC Columbia Hillel, you will be pivotal in supporting our mission to enrich the student experience at the University of South Carolina. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will collaborate on strategic vision and programming to engage students, promote Jewish life, and foster an inclusive community. Job Responsibilities: Strategic Vision and Leadership: Work with the Executive Director and stakeholders to develop and implement Hillel’s vision and strategy. Participate in the creation of organizational policies and strategies. Lead and mentor student interns, enhancing student leadership skills. Design and manage innovative programs, focusing on evaluation and improvement. Utilize engagement data to drive strategic decision-making. Jewish Student Life: Cultivate an inclusive environment that welcomes all forms of Jewish expression. Build personal connections with students to enhance their Jewish experience. Support student leaders in planning and executing campus Jewish activities. Coordinate programming aligned with Jewish holidays and academic calendars. Facilitate significant trips like Birthright Israel. Manage logistics for facility and event planning, particularly during high-attendance periods. Campus and Community Relations: Position Hillel as a central community hub on campus. Represent Hillel at various campus and community events. Forge partnerships with other campus organizations and faith groups. Increase Hillel's visibility and influence within the USC community. Handle all communications to keep the student body engaged with Hillel. Experience and Qualifications: 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in Jewish community roles or student services. Demonstrated experience in Jewish settings through volunteering or professional roles. Detail-oriented with strong time and project management skills. Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining high standards. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in email management, social media management/placement, and other digital tools. Deep understanding of Jewish culture, values, history, and practices. Experience in experiential education and community organizing. Innovative problem-solving mindset with a commitment to resilience and determination. Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical capability to handle tasks involving lifting up to 25 pounds.
