Purpose of Position
The South Florida Foundation Associate will work collaboratively with the area chapters to assist them in securing grants and participate in the cultivation and stewardship of South Florida foundations and federations. This remote full-time position will work in concert with FIDF South Florida chapter fundraisers to create and implement procedures, oversee proactive foundation and federation prospect research and development. Reports to the National Director of Foundations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with virtually or in person with foundation staff, trustees, and/or influencers to cultivate foundation grants.
- Prepare grant proposal and reports as needed with national and regional director guidance.
- Identify new foundations through demographic searches, screening information, and
other industry tools.
- Coordinate and manage foundation prospects. Utilize actions, prepare, review, and analyze Razor’s Edge (RE) NXT generated reports on specific foundations.
- Analyze and qualify data to assist chapter staff in developing a targeted approach to cultivate and steward foundation relationships and other donors that may contribute to FIDF using a DAF or Supporting Foundation under a Federation or Community Foundation umbrella.
- Track news alerts and manage information updates to be saved in RE.
- Assist in the development and coordination of a stewardship program for foundations.

Understanding private foundations, wealth indicators, giving capacity and identifying prospects. Strong collaboration skills. Detail oriented. Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the National director of Foundations and Vice President for the South Florida Region as they pertain to Foundations.
