Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia is seeking a Development Specialist to be a key member of the development team, providing critical operational, research, and project management support to ensure the seamless execution of cultivation campaigns, events, and donor outreach efforts. This role is designed to act as the connective tissue between high-level strategy and tactical execution, enabling scalable donor cultivation efforts, optimized campaign management, and increased community visibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development Campaign Management
· Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Advancement to design and manage cultivation campaigns, including building timelines, coordinating campaign details, and ensuring on-time execution.
· Oversee administrative tasks related to campaigns, including CRM updates, donor segmentation, and tracking donor cultivation activities.
· Prepare detailed campaign reports to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
Donor and Opportunity Research
· Conduct in-depth research on prospective donors using tools such as DonorSearch and wealth screening software.
· Prepare actionable donor reports to support targeted outreach efforts by leadership.
· Identify opportunities for organizational exposure by researching community events, webinars, and meetings.
· Attend local events and community meetings to represent the agency, build relationships, and uncover new donor opportunities.
Project Management
· Assist in managing campaign logistics, tracking action items, and ensuring follow-through on all cultivation strategies.
· Maintain an organized workflow for campaigns and events to ensure operational efficiency and minimize overlap.
· Provide support for cross-functional collaboration between development, marketing, and community engagement sub teams.
Support for Donor Cultivation
· Assist in preparing personalized donor outreach materials, including profiles, scripts, and follow-up literature.
· Update CRM with donor interactions, event notes, and progress updates to ensure accurate data for reporting.
· Coordinate with key staff and board members to align donor engagement efforts with strategic goals.
Administrative and Analytical Support
· Streamline processes and improve efficiencies in campaign management and donor cultivation operations.
· Evaluate campaign performance and provide insights to inform future strategies.
· Support preparation for donor meetings by compiling materials and creating professional presentations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider relevant work experience in the absence of a degree.
· 1-3 years development experience desired.
· Lifelong or significant experience within and knowledge of the Jewish community is highly desired
· An understanding of, commitment to, and an ability to articulate JFCS’ mission and Jewish values of Repairing the World, Community, and Dignity.
· Competence in data management and reporting, including creating and interpreting spreadsheets or dashboards is highly desired.
· Proven strategic planning experience in development or fundraising.
· Strong organizational and workflow management using project management tools.
· Strong interpersonal skills, with a professional and engaging demeanor when interacting with donors, volunteers, and community members.
· Collaborative mindset, with a track record of working effectively in cross-departmental teams.
· Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and campaign execution.

· Ability to travel as needed for donor meetings, events, and other activities

· Ability to meet agency required background clearances
· Ability to meet and maintain agency vaccination policy at hire and as required
Salary and Benefits
This full-time, non-exempt position’s hiring range is $50,000 to 55,000. The offered salary will be commensurate with internal parity, internal salary ranges, local and national sector benchmarks, and the candidate’s relevant qualifications, experience, and skills. JFCS’ office is in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. The position is on site with remote working opportunities and requires some travel throughout Greater Philadelphia region.
