The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City seeks a driven, results-oriented, and enthusiastic fundraiser to lead our Annual Campaign as well as additional emergency campaigns as they arise.   The ideal candidate has a passion for the Jewish community and thrives on building donor relationships, cultivating volunteer leadership, meeting and exceeding goals, and inspiring transformative generosity.

The Campaign Director is responsible for leading, implementing, and growing the Jewish Federation’s $5.3 million Annual Campaign. This person will develop and execute a comprehensive annual campaign plan and calendar, and will lead and manage a professional team and mobilize volunteers toward meeting or exceed the overall campaign goal.

The Campaign Director will lead the organization’s donor stewardship efforts, and will personally hold a portfolio of more than 100 campaign donors. The Campaign Director will work closely with the marketing and events team, and will work in partnership with the Director of Transformational Giving on planned giving and endowments.

The Campaign Director will report to the Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual campaign plan and calendar and work in close partnership with volunteer and professional leadership to implement and track progress toward meeting and exceeding goals
  • Lead and manage the professional fundraising team
  • Engage, inspire, and manage volunteer fundraising committees and ambassadors through education, recognition, and stewardship
  • Oversee budget preparation and monitoring for campaign efforts
  • Cultivate and steward high-potential donor prospects to grow the donor base
  • Lead by example in donor outreach and inspiring increased generosity
  • Develop and implement campaign-related events that drive support and loyalty
  • Ensure that donor information is effectively logged in the CRM system throughout the course of a campaign and that donor and prospect cultivation information is tracked

Required Experience, Skills & Characteristics

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in nonprofit or corporate setting with substantive leadership responsibilities for fundraising or sales and institutional advancement
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, including direct solicitation skills and the ability to build strong relationships that result in financial commitments
  • Demonstrated ability in staff leadership and the ability to work effectively as a leader and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated success in growing support or creating new partnerships/business
  • Passion for the Jewish community
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and strong work ethic
  • Strong supervisory skills and experience

Our annual campaign raises more than $5.3 million from approximately 1,200 donors. We provide funding to local nonprofit partner agencies, national partner organizations, and partners in Israel and working around the globe.
