Youth Engagement Manager

Be the Mentor You Wish You Had.

Are you the kind of person who lights up a room, makes kids feel instantly at ease, and believes Jewish life should be meaningful and fun? We're looking for a Youth Engagement Manager who’s passionate about building community, empowering teens, and making Judaism come alive through creative, real-world experiences.

This role is perfect for someone early in their career, maybe fresh out of college, who has experience in youth group, summer camp, or Jewish student leadership and is ready to take their love of informal education to the next level. This job is for you if you’re responsible, energetic, creative, and ready to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Our Youth Group (YETI – Youth Engagement @ Temple Israel)

  • Mentor and advise our teen board (8th–12th grade) to dream up and lead monthly programs that are meaningful, fun, and teen-approved.
  • Build a strong, welcoming teen community where everyone feels like they belong.
  • Build relationships with current and future participants and manage our social media presence.

Keep College Students Connected

  • Partner with our Senior Rabbi and Director of Learning and Engagement to create thoughtful, fun touchpoints with our college students.
  • Send holiday packages, plan in-person events during breaks, and keep the Jewish connection going, even from afar.

Teach and Inspire in the Religious School

  • Bring energy and creativity to our Religious School or Academy classrooms (PreK–12); we’ll match you with the right age group for your strengths and interests.
  • Help shape curriculum and teach classes that are interactive, relevant, and rooted in Jewish values.
  • Run our Madrichim (teen teacher assistant) program, train and mentor high school students as they grow into leaders and role models.

Create Moments That Matter for Families

  • Team up with our Education Department to plan and lead family programs throughout the year, big ones like the Purim Carnival, and smaller, meaningful experiences too.
  • Serve as our B'nai Mitzvah coordinator, assisting clergy to help parents navigate this powerful lifecycle moment with confidence and care.

Summer Opportunities

  • Encourage families to explore Jewish summer camps and help them access scholarships or other resources.
  • Serve as the Assistant Director of our preschool summer camp, mentoring junior counselors and helping run the day-to-day magic.

Who You Are

You’re the kind of person who:

  • Loved youth group, camp, or Hillel and now wants to be that inspiring leader for others.
  • Connects effortlessly with teens, parents, and colleagues.
  • Balances fun with responsibility—you’re the one others count on to follow through, show up with energy, and lead with heart.
  • Brings fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and Jewish spirit to everything you do.
  • Wants to grow in a supportive, creative, team-centered environment.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • You’ll be part of a collaborative education team that loves what they do.
  • You’ll have the chance to experiment, be bold, and make your mark.
  • You’ll make a real difference in the lives of kids, teens, and families, every single day.
