Position overview:

Jewish National Fund-USA seeks a Director to lead the fundraising for Alexander Muss High School. This position can be based in any of the following JNF offices:

  • New York City
  • Rockville Centre, NY
  • Northbrook, IL
  • Boca Raton, FL
  • Scottsdale, AZ

 

Position responsibilities:

  • Prospect potential new donors using various direct methods (such as calling and face-to-face meetings), networking, mining the salesforce database, utilizing social media sites, and research.
  • Manage a portfolio of AMHSI donors and have full responsibility for the solicitation and relationship stewardship of these donors. See more below on donor management expectations.
  • Consult with Jewish National Fund-USA fundraisers across the country to identify prospects and support fundraising activities as it relates to AMHSI.
  • Work in partnership with our Foundations team to identify prospective foundations.
  • Work with your Supervisor to implement the strategic fundraising goals that includes alumni outreach, grandparents' outreach, working with the planned giving department and the board of AMHSI. 
  • Draft monthly fundraising reports for presentation to the AMHSI Board of Directors.
  • Work with the Executive Director of Recruitment and Partnerships to manage AMHSI Development Committee members and their respective roles and to coordinate the strategy and needs of the AMHSI development committee.
  • Oversee donor journey and stewardship for AMHSI to ensure retention of AMHSI donors year over year.
  • Update and maintain the monthly fundraising spreadsheet to track donations and progress.
  • Work within the Jewish National Fund-USA eco-system (planned giving, grants, fundraisers) to ensure the success of the AMHSI campaign.
  • Represent Jewish National Fund-USA and AMHSI at various events.
  • Join in on face-to-face meetings for solicitation, cultivation, and recognition of donors both new and prospective.
  • Coordinate, compile and submit grants, grant applications and grant renewals with the Executive Director, Recruitment and Partnerships and Director, Grants and Foundations, and Boruchin Center.
  • Work with all Jewish National Fund-USA fundraisers on events where AMHSI is a part of the program and coordinate with the appropriate Center of Excellence Director.
  • Coordinate reports for board meetings and committee meetings as needed from Salesforce.
  • Provide fundraisers with necessary tools and support to effectively engage with donors and solicit donors for AMHSI.
  • Manage donor campus visits in partnership with campus and Israel.
  • Travel within the US and internationally, which may include Missions to Israel, Jewish National Fund-USA Global Conference for Israel, and Staff Conference.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years of relative experience in sales/fundraising.
  • Knowledge of Israel and current trends in the Jewish community is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven success in soliciting and closing gifts and building and maintaining long-term relationships with donors.
  • Strong understanding of donor research, identification, cultivation and solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Excellent writing and public-speaking skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM system is a plus.

Compensation:

$85,000+
