  • Implement internal controls and risk management strategies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.

Accounting & Reconciliation

  • Supervise and support JFF’s external Controller (Your Part-Time Controller) to maintain accurate financial data in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Ramp.
  • Process reconciliations for all accounts, including restricted net assets, and manage the month-end and year-end close processes.

Grant Management & Tracking

  • Monitor and manage grant-related activities in QBO, ensuring accurate coding, compliance, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the development team to align grant budgets with funding opportunities and prepare regular reports for grantors.

Budget Management & Analysis

  • Create and maintain financial reports, incorporating visual data to support decision-making.

Audit & Compliance

  • Maintain current, accurate financial records and adhere to regulatory requirements.

Special Projects & Analysis

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to advance JFF’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 7-10 years of progressive financial management experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally in a nonprofit.
  • Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and other financial software.
  • Experience with grant management, budget development, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
