About the Position

We are seeking a motivated, talented, and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Director of our Washington, DC location. This role will be the face of Lehrhaus DC, responsible for launching and managing the new location. 

Pre- opening, key areas of focus include design, hiring, licensure, and educational partnerships. Post-opening, the Director will continue to represent Lehrhaus DC, leading Jewish education, fundraising, and community-building efforts. The role involves assisting the tavern operations, supported by a dedicated General Manager and the main office.

If you are the right person, you will shape Lehrhaus DC to meet the unique needs of the DC Jewish and broader community.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Lehrhaus national team to oversee the development and design of the DC location.
  • Work with the DC General Manager and Lehrhaus nation team to open Lehrhaus DC including collaborating on hiring, licensure, training and marketing.
  • Lead local fundraising efforts to support Lehrhaus DC.
  • Oversee operations for Lehrhaus DC 
  • Foster a meaningful Jewish community centered around excellent food and joyous learning.
  • Develop and execute strategies to partner with local agencies and organizations for delivering Jewish learning and content.
  • Support tavern operations and assist in managing staff and operations.
  • Recruit teachers and professors to conduct classes.
  • Track community participation and encourage re-engagement and growth among members.

Ideal Background and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience managing teams.
  • Knowledge of Jewish traditions and the Jewish community.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Background in or eagerness to learn about the hospitality industry.
  • Professional, prompt, and responsible demeanor.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Warm and welcoming attitude.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
  • Generous benefits package
