Position: Program Director 

Reporting to: VP of Student Engagement
Hours: Full Time. Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Fridays 9:00 - 1:30/2:30
Brooklyn, NY Ideally onsite. Remote or hybrid option can be explored. 

 

About Chabad on Campus International (COCI) 

Chabad on Campus International is at the forefront of Jewish life on campus, supporting the sustainability and success of the 360+ Chabad Houses serving 890+ campuses: championing robust Jewish life and learning on college campuses around the world. Together with Chabad House Directors, we seek a future where every Jewish student has a deeper affinity, connection, and understanding of their faith, heritage, and identity.

We foster the success of 790+ campus-based Chabad Houses Directors by providing student engagement and supportive resources and creating a strong international community of campus leaders. Based in Brooklyn, New York, COCI has a team of 33 dedicated individuals and an annual operating budget of $16M. Given COCI’s mission of promoting a campus life where Jewish identity and Jewish pride can thrive in all circumstances, we are investing in a strategic growth initiative to be able to significantly increase our impact, which is needed more than ever during these volatile times for Jewish students on campus.

 

Position Overview

Chabad on Campus International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Program Director. This position is instrumental in enhancing national program offerings for Chabad Houses on campuses. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, have a deep understanding of program strategies to engage and educate students, and be capable of overseeing a dedicated team.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and manage a team to ensure the successful implementation and growth of programs.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Vision:
    • Analyze the needs, resources, and capabilities of each campus with a view to offering innovative initiatives to our global network that will increase and deepen student engagement and education.
  • Marketing:
    • Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy for all programs.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns.
    • Implement effective marketing strategies to reach and engage the target audience.
  • Project Development and Implementation:
    • Identify and prioritize initiatives based on campus assessments and organizational goals.
    • Oversee the development of comprehensive project plans for current and future projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Drive projects forward by overseeing their execution and ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Networking:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Chabad House directors and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with relevant departments within the organization to align programs with broader organizational objectives.
    • Participate in conferences, workshops, and other events to stay informed about educational trends and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of programs.
    • Collect and analyze feedback from students, Chabad House directors, and other stakeholders to continuously improve the programs.

 

Qualifications 

  • A minimum of three years of experience in engagement or educational leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of Jewish engagement and educational principles.  
  • Understanding of and willingness to support Chabad philosophy.
  • Proven experience in team management and project leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Master's degree in Education, Jewish Studies, or a related field preferred.

Compensation:  $80,000 to $100,000 annual salary depending on experience; if your background exceeds our requirements, let’s talk.
