REPORTS TO: Director of Engagement Programming 
SALARY: $40,000-$50,000 commensurate on experience 

Calgary Jewish Federation is seeking a dynamic, motivated community builder to serve the 18 to 40 demographic. The Emerging Gen Coordinator, overseeing JAC and Hillel, will be a talented relationship builder, and have a strong understanding of Jewish young adult and young professional engagement as it relates to the Jewish community. Candidates must have strong understanding of Jewish religion and culture, and issues relating to Israel and international Jewry.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to JAC and Hillel lay leadership on initiatives including, but not limited to, event programming and facilitation, fundraising and leadership development.
  • Outreach, engagement, education, and program facilitation on Israel advocacy and battling antisemitism/Jew hatred.
  • Work with UCalgary’s Faith and Spirituality Centre as their Jewish representative.
  • Empower and develop current and potential volunteer leaders to be advocates for Federation and Federation’s mission.
  • Build relationships with Jewish partner agencies, synagogues, staff and volunteer leadership.
  • Develop under 40 giving for the Annual Campaign and identify potential donors.
  • Support Federation community-wide programming in addition to JAC and Hillel programs and events.
  • Inspire and cultivate the next generation of Jewish leaders.
  • Curation of Jewish engagement and experience, and leadership development within Jewish Calgary’s umbrella.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a pluralistic mindset and warm, welcoming demeanor.
  • Be open to speaking on Interfaith panels and engaging with the non-Jewish community as a representative of the Jewish community.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have creative engagement ideas.
  • Be available evenings and Sundays when needed.
  • Be highly organized.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
