Description

The Yoetz/et, Hebrew word for "advisor" is a part of the Camper Care team, and edah (camper division) staff. The Yoetz/et is expected to be around for daily programming to help observe social dynamics and get to know campers and staff to help them have a successful summer.  

The Yoetz/et position includes the following responsibilities: 

Camper care:  

  • Conduct 2x weekly camper care meetings with staff, where each camper is reviewed and wellbeing is discussed. 
  • Participate in weekly camper care meetings with senior staff. 
  • Mentor rosh edah (division head) and counselors on camper care issues. 
  • Help counselors navigate tricky social dynamics in the bunk.  
  • Provide support to homesick campers

Parent Liaison:

  • Responsible for communications with parents about campers. 
  • Can be as broad as asking them to send more socks to checking in about a challenging behavior that has been observed at camp. 
  • If a parent has a question, the Yoetzet is who they reach out to. 

General Edah Support:

  • Liaison with infirmary, make sure that kids are going to get medicine on time, communicate this with rosh edah and counselors 
  • Make sure that campers are writing letters home 2x a week on designated days 
  • Provide support around Nikayon (daily cleaning block) 

Time commitment: minimum 4-week session
