What you will do
Both independently and in collaboration with the Jewish Studies team, our Jewish Studies teacher will:

  • Be an inspiring dugma ishit (role model) for students modeling a passionate, joyful, and deep relationship to Jewish life and learning
  • Design, plan and implement text-focused Jewish Studies lessons and units that motivate students to engage in active, interpretive learning experiences and prepare students to find meaning in Jewish holidays and practices
  • Prepare and implement differentiated instruction, activities and assessments that meet the needs of every student.
  • Build relationships with all students
  • Create and maintain a safe, well-structured physical environment that is conducive to student learning.
  • Participate in ongoing cycles of reflection, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Some experience studying classical Jewish texts (Tanakh, Talmud) in their original languages
  • Minimum of two years experience teaching students, preferably in an elementary school setting
  • Exemplary teaching skills

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive salary; commensurate with experience, up to $102,000
