The One School, located at Temple Beth Am, a vibrant reform congregation in Jupiter FL, serves almost 150 children from ages 18 months to pre-k, in our play centered Reggio Emilia inspired program. The preschool is an important part of our synagogue community and we are in search of a Director who understands and will nurture this relationship.

The ideal candidate will build on the success of our program, through their knowledge of Judaic values and traditions, understanding of child development and conscious discipline, ability to create and implement curriculum, focus on relationship building, leadership of teachers and staff, and strong communication and organization skills.

 

The early childhood education director is responsible for all daily operations of the school including:

  • Building strong relationships with preschool families and making them feel an important part of our synagogue community.
  • Leadership of teaching staff including evaluation, reflection, recruitment, and retention, including providing necessary professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborating with senior staff, clergy, and lay leadership, including PTO, on temple programming for young families, and visioninig for the future of our preschool
  • Overseeing and working closely with the preschool administrative assistant and camp director
  • Working with marketing director to develop outreach and recruitment plan, including online presence.
  • Promoting a classroom environment in keeping with the mission and values of our organization including working closely with teachers to infuse Judaism in the classrooms.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing and state regulations and organizations, including VPK.
  • Develop and maintain annual preschool budget

 

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of bachelors degree in early childhood or related field, masters, or graduate degree in progress preferred.
  • 5+ years in early childhood setting including management or leadership experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written oral and computer skills
  • Understanding of child development and knowledge of Judaic tradition
  • Directors Credential
  • Knowledge of Reggio Emilia approach

 

Start Date: Flexible 

Compensation:  $65,000- 80,000. Negotiable based on experience, plus benefits.
