The Israel Education Coordinator (IEC) will be responsible for fostering meaningful engagement around Israel at every campus that San Francisco Hillel serves. The IEC will develop opportunities for students to engage with Jewish life and explore the complexities of Israel, encouraging student leadership, dialogue, and reflection. The IEC will also facilitate diverse programming and events that create space for thoughtful discussion, connecting students to broader communities both on and off-campus.
The Israel Education Coordinator will manage educational initiatives related to Israel, coordinate advocacy activities, recruit for Birthright Israel, follow up with participants after immersive experiences, collaborate with campus administrations across the nine campuses, and build relationships with a variety of organizations throughout the community.
SF Hillel is committed to providing students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of Israel within the broader context of Jewish identity and global Jewish peoplehood. We seek to create a space where students can critically examine Israel's role in Jewish life and the world, and engage in constructive conversations that bridge diverse perspectives. SF Hillel aspires to help students form thoughtful, informed connections to Israel that reflect the complexity and diversity of the region's issues.
San Francisco Hillel (SF Hillel) provides inclusive, innovative, and fun Jewish experiences and programs for college and graduate students across San Francisco. With vibrant student communities at SF State University, University of San Francisco, UC Law SF, UCSF Medical School, and San Francisco Conservatory of Music, our professionals mentor students of all Jewish backgrounds as they author their adult identities and launch their careers. We envision a world where every student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, values and learning, and to develop a thoughtful, meaningful connection to Israel. To deliver on this vision, SF Hillel focuses on four pillars: Jewish Identity Exploration, Jewish Community Building, Jewish Future Leadership Development, and Jewish Student Support.
SF Hillel is affiliated with Hillel International. Hillel International enriches the lives of Jewish students so they may enrich the Jewish people and the world, and envisions a world where every student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel.
About Hillel International
In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at nearly 1,000 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.
Hillel is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
