Position Type: Hybrid (3 days a week in office required)

The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the U.S., founded in 1898. The OU supports a vast network of synagogues, youth programs, advocacy efforts, services for individuals with disabilities, and international initiatives. It also operates the leading kosher certification service, recognized globally by the ? symbol on numerous kosher food products.
 
The Institutional Advancement – Data Services team processes and manages donations for the Orthodox Union and works cross- functionally with other departments to ensure accurate allocation and reporting of donations to aid the organization in better servicing the Orthodox Jewish community, as well as facilitating donor communications relating to donation inquiries. Position Overview:
The Data Services Associate will play a role (as assigned by direct manager) in ensuring accurate donation processing, maintaining fundraising data, and supporting cross-departmental collaboration. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual passionate about donor engagement and data management in a mission-driven environment.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Donation Processing & Data Management
  • Input and manage donation data, including credit cards, wires, stock donations, and checks.
  • Resolve discrepancies in donation records in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information in the database (Velocity).
  • Research and update incomplete or incorrect donor addresses.
  • Monitor and collect outstanding pledges and track missing donation information.
  • Generate reports and analyze donor data to identify trends and opportunities.
Internal Stakeholder Communication
  • Regularly communicate with internal departments to provide updates on gift processing and status.
  • Collaborate with finance and program teams to ensure alignment on donor contributions and allocation.
  • Support resolving internal questions related to gift processing timelines and donor-related data.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in fundraising or donor relations is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Salary and Benefits:
  • The salary range for this position is between $40,000 and $48,000.

Work Schedule:
  • Monday–Thursday: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Fridays: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. during winter).
  • Hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.
