Preschool Director

The Ideal Candidate for this job must have experience running a Preschool in New York State.  Your duties will include, but are not limitted to: 1) Hiring a staff of teachers to teach 2, 3 and 4 year old children: 2) Creating an appropriate curriculum for 2 year old, 3 year old and 4 year old classrooms; 3) Learning and fulfilling all the registration requirements of the Office of Child and Family Services (our licensing agency) 4) Creating and implementing safety plans for our children; 5) Overseeing a staff of approximately 15-20 Teachers and Maintenance Workers; 6) Working with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to create a balanced budget for the school, the largest expense of which is payroll. The school has had close to a 50 year run of success, which will give you an excellent starting point to create your budget. 

You will be working for one of the largest Private Preschools in Central New York.  Your co-workers and your Board of Directors are extremely supportive.  The School has an outstanding reputation.  We have a large waiting list every year. We are located in Utica, New York, a small town in upstate/central New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, with a population of approximately 60.000 people (and approximately 200,000 people in the Metro area).  The City has been through tough times, but in recent years has very much turned the corner and has seen some rather large business investments by New York State in just the last two or three years. Utica is about 90 minutes west of Albany, New York, and about 45 miutes east of Syracuse, New York.
