Digital Communications Coordinator

Position Summary:

FLSA: Salaried, non-exempt; Full Time

Under the supervision of the Director of Communications, the Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for the management of Congregation Shaare Emeth’s digital communications, social media presence, and online relations. This includes social media management, content creation, online community management, website development/updates and more. This individual will execute Shaare Emeth’s online presence and leverage current trends to gain awareness of and affinity for the Temple through online communications, public relations, and online community building.

 

Responsibilities:

 Communications & Content Creation:

  • Work collaboratively with Shaare Emeth staff to collect, write, and publish content for marketing initiatives, websites, digital signage, social media, fundraising opportunities, partner websites and more.
  • Manage Temple core copy for programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Create content and update sestl.org to promote programs online and search engine optimization.
  • Maintain social media, email, and press release content calendars.
  • Provide copywriting and proofreading for Temple programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Provide input and execute email marketing campaigns to support membership development, program participation, volunteer engagement, etc.
  • Adapt print designs for digital use in emails, social media, websites, and digital signage displays.
  • Manage Temple Live Streaming services.

Social Media & Online Community Management:

  • Create content and implement ongoing social media and digital initiatives for the wide range of Shaare Emeth programs, initiatives, and brand.
  • Maintain and grow Shaare Emeth’s online presence in a manner that attracts new audiences and engages current members.
  • Identify and implement new ways to engage online that expands Shaare Emeth’s reach and brand awareness, including utilizing community influencers.
  • Provide reputation management by monitoring online feedback through social listening and identify opportunities and threats in the social media and digital space.
  • Execute advertising campaigns through social media platforms. Monitor and track results.
  • Research, identify, and implement the newest online marketing trends.
  • Optimize digital communications for maximum performance on targeted social platforms.

 

Public Relations:

  • In collaboration with the Director of Communications, create, proofread, and disseminate press releases to traditional and online media outlets.
  • Update and ensure accuracy of online listings of events (sestl.org, news sites, community calendars, etc.).

 

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.

  • Two+ years of professional experience in online marketing, web design or social media, may include internships.
  • Excellent written communication and proofreading skills; writing samples required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain.
  • Experience working with email marketing software and campaign management is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in teams.
  • Skilled and updated knowledge of current social media trends, platforms, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Google Docs, etc.
  • Expert knowledge in WordPress and Canva is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic public relations principles and practices is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is strongly preferred.
  • Photographic experience is a plus.
  • Passion for and knowledge of Jewish topics a plus, but not required.
