Community Connector at Contra Costa JCC 

Position Overview: 

The Community Connector will play a key role in engaging with audiences and fostering deeper connections between the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center (CCJCC) and its diverse communities. This role is focused on event coordination, community engagement, and supporting the execution of initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic goals.  

1.Event Planning & Coordination:

A. Collaborate with staff to create and execute an annual calendar of events and initiatives that align with CCJCC’s mission.

B. Oversee all aspects of event planning, including logistics, setup/strike, curation, and administrative duties.

C. Attend and assist with all community engagement events to ensure smooth execution and provide on-site support.

2. Community Outreach & Relationship Building: 

A. Foster relationships with community partners and co-sponsors to promote initiatives and expand audience reach.

B. Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator and community partners/co-sponsors to support marketing and outreach efforts for programs and events, aiming to increase event attendance.

3. Evaluation & Improvement:

A. Assist in the development of evaluation tools to assess the strengths of community engagement programs and identify areas for growth. 

B. Collect feedback during events to ensure continuous improvement and enhance future initiatives.

C. Track and record new contact information for future engagement and follow-up.

4. General Administrative Support: 

A. Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and other team members as needed. 

B. Perform other duties related to event coordination, outreach, and community engagement as assigned by the Executive Director. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. 
  • Experience in event planning, community engagement, or program coordination is preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a passion for community outreach. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for events. 
  • Must be able to attend and assist with all Community Engagement events. 
  • Fluency in Hebrew is a plus 
  • Residency in Contra Costa is required 
  • Remote position  
  • Part-time (up to 20h a week, $28-35 per hour, DOE)  

This position reports to the CCJCC Executive Director.
