Education & Youth Director – Chabad of Tribeca

Chabad of Tribeca is a vibrant and growing Jewish community dedicated to fostering deep connections to Jewish life through engaging education, meaningful experiences, and dynamic youth programming. We are seeking an Education & Youth Director to lead our Hebrew School and youth programs (K-12th grades)—someone passionate about inspiring the next generation and creating an enriching, joyful environment for Jewish learning and community engagement.

This full-time role, blends educational leadership with innovative youth programming. The ideal candidate is a creative, warm, and energetic educator and administrator who can connect with students and families, oversee a team of teachers, and cultivate a strong sense of Jewish identity through experiential learning and community involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Education Leadership:

  • Oversee and continuously enhance the Hebrew School curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, meaningful, and rooted in Jewish values.
  • Strengthen Hebrew and Tefillah proficiency at all levels, providing enrichment opportunities for advanced students.
  • Hire, mentor, and supervise teachers, fostering professional growth and ensuring excellence in the classroom.
  • Develop a parent engagement strategy, including communication, newsletters, and school-wide programming.
  • Maintain student records, oversee attendance, and establish a clear, positive discipline approach.
  • Collaborate with clergy and lay leadership to expand family learning opportunities and Jewish holiday experiences.

Youth & Family Programming:

  • Revitalize and grow youth programming, creating engaging and relevant Jewish experiences for Kindergarten through teens.
  • Organize Shabbat and holiday experiences that foster family participation and deepen Jewish connection.
  • Develop teen leadership and social programming, including Shabbatons, outings, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Assist with planning and executing community wide events such as the Purim Carnival, family Shabbat dinners, and holiday celebrations.
  • Oversee the promotion of youth activities through social media, digital marketing, and community outreach.
  • Track participation, manage budgets, and recruit parent volunteers to build a strong foundation of involvement.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about Jewish education and creating meaningful, lasting connections with students and families.
  • Strong curriculum development and classroom management skills.
  • Energetic and engaging with children, teens, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience mentoring staff.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with marketing, social media, and outreach.
  • A team player who will integrate into the Chabad of Tribeca community and take part in broader synagogue & community events.
