Position

Based on experience we are looking to hire either a Coordinator or Assistant Director.

Coordinator: 0 - 2 years experience

Assistant Director: 3+ years experience

 

What You’ll Do

At a time of exciting growth, Temple Emanu-El of Westfield seeks a Coordinator / Assistant Director of Teen Learning & Engagement (YLE) to lead the planning, development, and implementation of the Temple’s Teen Engagement through a variety of programs and events. Collaborating across clergy, staff, and lay leaders, this position will be part of the YLE team and reports to the Director of YLE.

Key Responsibilities

Teen Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Youth Learning and Engagement to create, innovate, and implement the vision and programming for teen engagement.
  • Support and manage the Madrichim leadership program, including administrative tasks such as payroll, class assignments, email communications, and Madrichim seminars.
  • Advise the TEEns Coordinating Council and assist in coordinating programs and events.
  • Maintain the alumni network and oversee the College Outreach Program for college students.

Immersive Experiences:

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute immersive experiences for teens, youth, and families. These include annual teen retreats and trips, 6th and 7th grade NYC trips, 8th and 9th grade trips, high school trips, and potentially a family retreat.

Religious School:

  • Teach on Sundays, midweek Hebrew sessions, and Tuesday night school, including Nisayon
  • Serve as the 6th and 7th Grade Nisayon Coordinator
  • Lead and coordinate the Better Together Fellowship program
  • Organize and attend Nisayon events for 6th and 7th graders in coordination with Director of YLE
  • Manage B’nai Mitzvah Track events in collaboration with clergy
  • Track Hebrew progress and work closely with the clergy’s B’nai Mitzvah team

Communications & Marketing:

  • Manage the TEEns social media platforms (Instagram)
  • Oversee emails and communications with Nisayon families and faculty
  • Track and manage B’nei Mitzvah Track emails
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with temple teens and their families to keep them informed and engaged in the community



Position Summary

Salary: Coordinator $55,000 - $60,000 , Assistant Director $60,000 - $65,000 based on experience

Location: Westfield, NJ (onsite)

 

Some of the Skills You Will Bring:

  • Passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults, fostering positive relationships and creating engaging experiences that support their growth and development
  • Experience in Jewish education and community life, with a strong understanding of traditions, values, and practices to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences
  • Strong independent and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Proficient in Instagram and Canva (a plus)
  • Skilled in writing, with audience-focused appeal
  • Flexible for night and weekend shifts
  • Experience in donor communications and event materials
  • Tech-savvy, organized project manager (ShulCloud experience a plus)

 

Work Location & Hours:

This position is based onsite at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield, NJ. The schedule extends beyond traditional 9-to-5 hours, including evenings, weekends, and holiday commitments.
